This is the moment so many wait for each year....The ice bridge between Mackinac Island and St. Ignace has formed. The conditions have been perfect for the beginning of winter and last week the first brave group of island natives braved the crossing. Jason St. Onge, Bobby Horn and Bret Horn made the first crossing of the year on snowmachines, January 23. That certainly paved the way for the continuous crossings since then. Its great to see all the activity between the neighboring communities. Whether its for pure recreation or a family getting groceries and staples from the St. Ignace mainland, or a meal at one of local eateries, you feel the excitement and you know, a perfect winter may be upon us.
